26/02/2009: Mobile online marketing stats show increased usage
Online marketing potential via mobile internet may be more lucrative than ever after it was revealed usage went up in 2008 by 14 per cent.
According to a study by ABI Research, seven in ten respondents used a search engine to surf the web on their handset last year, representing a year-on-year increase for this trend.
Jeff Orr is a senior analyst at the company and said not only were numbers up, but the rise in people using mobile searches was almost double that of the increase in people generally accessing sites on mobiles. more ...

05/12/2007: Google is hoping users of its search engine will report "bad sites" to help the company fight criminals exploiting its infrastructure in order to distribute malicious software.
According to the Google security blog, the search giant already knows about hundreds of thousands of "bad" Web sites but is hoping that its users will add to the list by completing an online form to report malicious sites that are not already flagged.
The fight is important to Google because sites containing malicious software endanger the search giant's reputation by exploiting and infecting its users. This was described recently in a blog by security company Sunbelt. more ...
